Hi there, My name is Jake and I’d like to welcome you to my Blog, Jake’s Jigger. I know that the title can seem a little naughty but it is an honest play on words. A jigger is a tool used by bartenders to measure out ingredients for cocktails. Now if you are new to the world of making cocktails or have never tried before then you will find plenty of easy to follow recipes on this blog. Each with a picture of how they should look once you have made them (if they don’t then you have done something terribly wrong). You may be wondering why people even bother with cocktails as they are overpriced and complicated and I agree. But when you are a student (like myself) you do not have a lot of money and need something other than beer and cider to drink at house parties.
Here are a few quick handy notes to help you;
- A measure is standard jigger size of 25ml
- A double measure is 50 ml
- 1 tablespoon is 15ml
- 1 teaspoon is 5ml
